Speak to Bob Adams, he had a very lightweight case, looked like a normal steel case, covered in same material as a gig bag, it had wheels and extending handle.I used to use a Gig Bag, added thin ply covered in foam to inside, ok if using your own car and placed on back seat,( never put in boot after seeing damage done to Willie Gambles Emmons when bus ran into rear of his car.Rembember front and rear of modern cars are "crumple zones" made to protect the passenger cab" , for van/flying gigs I use lightweight Scott Dixon case.
