Advice on a seat for gigs

I got a seat from W.C.Edgar (now steel seats.com) , it has back rest on it, BEST THING I EVER DID, what a difference when playing long gigs, used to come of stage like the Hunch Back of Notre Dame, still come off with looks like him but at least standing straight.Recommended for back pain sufferers.Have sat on Gerry Hogans Scott Dixon seat, comfortable and light weight.

I was thinking about the amount of stuff I take to gigs (on the tube) and trying to think how to reduce it.
Then I had a brainwave which may sound ridiculous..

..but if I could put removable or collapsible legs on my case it could work as a big seat and I wouldnt' need to carry one.

Is this feasible? (I know there are a lot of engineers out there..)
I also want to put big wheels with pneumatic tyres on it so I can haul it round the pavements of London without it gettign rattled around too much, and without the extra weight of the trolley i currently use.

If I got a new aluminium case would it be possible to add (weld?) legs and wheels to it and make it an all in one trolley-seat-case?

or am I the case?

Henry, clever idea, but don't think it would work, by the time you added all the bits (assuming you could weld it) the weight and bits sticking out would make it a bit of a monster to move about.Have you tried one of these fold flat type trolley you can buy from B&Q for around £28, virtually no weight in them.I used to use a drum stool which when folded, the metal stand fitted in pedal rack part of case and seat went in cable bag which I attached to trolley.

I like the drum stool idea, think I'll look into that.

I've seen the lighter trolleys but i'm concerned the little wheels on them with no tyres will mean the guitar will get rattled to much and the set up will be affected in transit. but maybe i worry too much..

Henry, I used one of these trollies some years ago , pulled through Central Station Glasgow, onto train off at Euston, along Euston Road to hotel , then by taxi to BBC Maida vale studios, did session then return journey, had no problem with guitar.Had as I said, stool in guitar case and seat part and Profex in cable bag hung over handle of trolley.Hope this helps.Malcolm

I have just got my seat back from Scott Dixon, they replaced the legs and put in a new seating foam , much thicker, I can reccomend this seat to anyone who is looking to buy a new seat, lots of storage and adjustable legs. all the work was free, so thats good service and very quick..
