Scottdixon cases

Postby Ken Byng » Sat Nov 05, 2011 12:50 pm

Just enquiring if anyone has dealt with this company. I paid an amount of cash straight into John Dixon's bank account for a steel guitar seat. I have asked him several times for a delivery date but so far - no seat. I was a bit concerned initially that he wouldn't take a credit card (so I would be protected if anything went wrong with the company).

Anyone had recent dealings with them (ScottDixon cases), and did you get your order through within a reasonable time?

Never dealt directly with them but have owned their cases ( very nice gear) !!. But for a steelies seat If my "Walker" ever wears out, I would go to Baz Weston in London..... its virtually the same thing with a lot smaller price tag!! 8-)

I bought a case for the Blanton 4/5 yrs ago, ordered it late October, just after the Irish festival they promised it just before Christmas, I got a phone call Christmas week to say my case had been picked up by UPS and would be with me the next day, it never arrived, I was thinking Christmas traffic so i didn't worry. I phoned on the 24th Dec and explained the situation, I think it was John who asked me to leave it until the New Year. The case never arrived, and I called, they made another case and sent it to me that week, unfortunately the guitar did not fit in the case it was too short. I phoned again and they made another case, it arrived that week and fitted perfectly. I received a phone call about 2wks later telling me the first case had turned up at Gatwick Airport with a hole in it. The whole experience was very well handled by the company and I would have no problems dealing with them again. They are maybe a bit pricey but you only get what you pay for, the Blanton is a very heavy guitar and the case handles it really well.

In the interest of fairness, I can report that I have now finally received my seat from Scott Dixon cases. The owner has explained the reason behind the delay to me this week, which I fully understand and appreciate.
