I had a potential buyer phone me for advice last night re: the Springfield on ebay, the seller was looking for £600 but was willing to drop to £500 I told him the seller was on cloud cuckoo land. The changer on this model is single raise single lower so if you want to progress you would have to change the guitar at a later date. I sold quite a few of these in the early 80s to lead guitar players in bands who wanted to make steel guitar noises. It does look in very good condition.
Blanton D10, Justice s10, Fender Acoustasonic 150, 1 Brain, 2 Hands, 2 Knees, & 2 Feet.

I'd like to be a pound behind you in the money stakes Kev. :D

Check eBay out regularly. Last year a D10 Sho~Bud Super Pro was advertised on eBay that was in really good nick (natural birdseye maple job) and went for around a grand. It was worth a drive to the south coast to check it out first. I should have gone for it, but I had 2 Sho~Bud's at the time.

I would steer clear of that particular Springfield on eBay. Jim Kerr made some very nice guitars, but his earlier ones were not in the same league as his later models.

....Wasn't tempted by the Springfield.....probably cos it isn't expensive enough...

Haven't things gone quiet on the 'For Sale' front??.....a couple of non-starters, then ZIP for me!! :(

Perhaps it's the wrong time of the year to be moving gear around :?:

Kev, If you want to live on the wild side, check out my web page http://www.benrom.com and see the steels that I build, one at a time, with many features non existent in other expensive models. Take a good look at the blue one, also see and hear it in action. Then send me an email thru the web page and see what we can come up with together, to create the steel of your dreams for a very reasonable amount.
Who knows?
