Visited Ronnie in Raigmore hospital Inverness yesterday to find him in pretty good form, we had not met since 2007/9 so it took him a minute to get a handle on me but JD had kept me up to speed and told Ronnie and Sheena I may give him a visit.
When admitted he was not in great shape with very low kidney function and pretty poorly, in short they have blasted him with anti biotics and got the problem under control.
While there the little physio lass got him up walking with a zimmer and he manage to the window and back in his six bed ward, a very big improvement apparently on the previous day.
Sheena came in before I left and we had a good chat. she was very pleased with his progress. It had given her a real scare, she had a struggle with him prior to the ambulance arriving but with the help of a neighbour had managed to get him of the floor!
It is hoped that they will move him to a smaller hospital soon on the other side of town which will be easier for her to visit.
I did manage to tell the girls on duty that he was Royalty in our industry, explaining Pedal Steel (best I could) and his involvement in it in the UK.
They were 'gob smacked' and I'm sure will asking lots of questions of him on the remainder of his stay!
Keep him and Sheena in mind, onwards and upwards hopefully!!
