Postby Zumbilly(Murdoch) » Fri Jul 05, 2024 11:06 am

Very saddened this morning to hear of Arch's passing. It was posted on the U.S.Forum.
I met Arch many years ago and saw Him in person several times,We corresponded regularly.
Arch was a superb guy with a tremendous wit.
Rest in Peace dear friend

Spoke to Archie's sister in law today, she told me Archie died at Inverclyde Hospital,in the early hours of Monday, he had been in after a fall three weeks ago,but sadly caught covid and did not recover. Have known Arch for many years, and used to change strings for him as his sight was poor.He was a character with a wicked sense of humour,he will be sorely missed. My sincere condolences to his family.Should get details of his funeral arrangements on Monday or Tuesday and will post them here.

The following equipment is from the estate of the late Archie Nicol, who passed away recently. The sale is being organised by his sister-in-law, Eileen Boyle, who can be reached via Facebook Messenger. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100014123268100
Eileen is not, herself, a steel guitarist, so is not aware the value of the items, and is dealing with his estate out of the goodness of her heart, so let's be fair with her.
I should point out that Andy lived in Ayrshire, Scotland, a few miles west of Glasgow, so local sales would be preferable.
Mailing to the United States or Canada would be prohibitively expensive.

Brad, Eileen is selling the equipment through me, I am taking the offers for her and passing them on to her with my advice on suitability, she then tells me which ones she wants to proceed with. Will do my best to make sure she and the family are in good hands, Thanks for highlighting the sake of Archie’s equipment.
