This is the date for the meeting in May, I will be on holiday from the 26th April until the 7th May. I can still be contacted on my mobile, either by text or phone call. This month I would like you to pick out 2/3 tunes from our back log of tracks, see if you can improve them, change the key, the tempo, or, the backing style. Put the new arrangements onto a dingle dongle, and I can plug it into the club laptop. Seeya awl in a month.LDN.

A good night was had by all, and brilliant to see Geoff back after such a long time, and, he brought a young lady with him, that brightened us all up. Next month is the 21st of June.

Thanks Donny, it was great to see you all again. Janice will be very flattered to be described as a young lady, it's all relative I suppose but she does look great for a woman of years old

Good to see you back at the steel again with Janice just fluttering her eyelashes to get all the would be hunks carting your gear willingly without moaning about doing it!
You led talks within the GMA ( Gartcosh Medical Association ) when a variety of illnesses were discussed including Wullie ‘s anorexia problem, some more able members attending showed tendencies of waggingtoungeitis during the evening but Dr Johnson soon remedied that by telling them to close their mouths tightly when someone was playing, although he expressed the words differently!
We’re glad to see your still sporting your Worzell Gummage hairstyle despite your “difficulties” and look forward to seeing your welcome return to future enjoyable meetings like last night.

Yeah, she usually gets her way with me also. Good to see you Robert, sorry to hear about your medical issues, glad that you seem to be OK now. That was some bike you had back in the day. I enjoyed the night, I have to say though that it really took it out of me. Not sure when I'll be back, we'll be away in June and July on the SSGW dates, after that I'm not sure. It will very much depend on how I'm feeling at the time but I would like to get back at some point.

I really enjoyed that tune that was in G and had the A min to E min change in it, I'd like to play with that one a bit more. Can anyone tell me what tune it was, I have a pile of BIAB tunes which Donny sent me but that was a few years ago so I'm not sure if I have that one. I loaded up a few tunes I thought it might be but couldn't find it. So I'm also looking for the BIAB version of whatever it was!

Re my hairstyle, a year or so ago I was going for the Kojak look, when my hair started to grow again it came in like I had had a perm, so the Keegan look. Back to normal now in true Gummage style, I recently applied for a few jobs scaring away the crows, was lucky to land one at a local farm but got the sack after the crows started nesting in my hair

Geoff, it was an absolute pleasure to see you again, and to hear you play. The tune you are looking for I'm sure is the Dark Island. Donny has a BIAB track for it and I'm sure, if you ask him nicely, he will send it to you
In my humble opinion, last night was a goodun. I telephoned Bob today to find out if he was OK and thankfully he is.
It was unusual of him not to be there, and when I called him yesterday and couldn't get an answer I was a tad worried to say the least.
Some of the playing last night was fantastic, I'm fair chuffed with you lads

It was great to see you again too Willie, I enjoyed the night and Janice enjoyed it too. Pity Bob couldn't make it, I was looking forward to touching base with him.

Was impressed with with general level of playing by everyone, obviously with players as good as yourself and Davie it goes without saying, but I noticed a big improvement with the other less experienced players such as Robert, Davey, Tony and Brandon since I last attended.

Yeah, I thought the tune had a Scottish feel to it, I'm sure I've heard it before, it sounded familiar. Have been reading about it's origins etc, we did a trip to the Outer Hebrides in the van and I totally get the lyrics. I fancy doing a version of it so I'll PM Donny to see if he has a BIAB version.
