Greetings from Barcelona :)

Hi there :) !

So, the idea of getting a pedal steel has been on/off in my mind for the past 15 years probably. Every time it happened, I dipped a bit deeper into it, got a bit more of info and resources, then finally got discouraged by the prices / difficulty of the instrument or getting tuition / servicing it around BCN. Hopefully my final attempt at it :)
I would like to find a second-hand entry-level instrument in the 1k EUR price range (Carter Starter, Stage One, etc ... )
Not sure what I am getting into, but excited about it :)

Thanks everyone !

Josep, my Zb s10 is well within your budget and if you are prepared to come all this way to collect then you are welcome to some of my time to help get you started.

Hi John,

Thanks a lot for your offer to help me getting started, would love to!
Sure I would like to know more about that ZB ... is it the student model with 3 knee levers? can you tell me about it? Price, condition, etc ...
I have googled them a bit ... mostly everyone agrees they have a good sound, but there's some division regarding them being the best model to start with; for what I understood they have some "mechanical limitations" (if compared to other mechanism i.e. Emmons) and that makes them not "so easy" to play with ... What is your opinion on that?

Thanks and best regards,

Josep

Josep, If you go to the topic posh zB student model you can see me playing it it's the same guitar that I started on and it plays very well It has 3 floor pedals and 2 knee levers that enable you to raise and lower the E's.
Both student models that I have here have one thing in common they have the same mechanism as the pro models Both the Emmons and the ZB illhave been upgraded but while the upgrade on the zB is mostly cosmetic the upgrade on the Emmons Is more genuine.

Thank you Roy, Another thing I forgot to mention the ZB is built like a tank substantial piece of equipment and probably weigh's about twice as much as the Emmons And for us older players that fact is quite important.

Many thanks both Roy and John!

I actually found John's original post with pictures here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=16188&p=67005&hilit=posh+zB+student+model#p67005
I'll be out for the rest of the weekend so I'll check it out when I come back. Still have some questions so I'd rather contact you John via PM to solve my doubts

Thanks and best regards!
