A song what I wrote

Postby Mr W » Thu Feb 02, 2023 3:35 pm

Hi All A bit of Ernie Wise there. I have my new meds so have the rest of the week off so they can kick in. They said they should make me a new man but I said I would sooner have a woman. ( Lucky the wife doesn't read these posts else I won't get my Birthday pressie on Friday) I wanted to have a go at writing a song so I just doodled for a bit then recorded it after lunch today and went with the flow. It's all one take and as JD would say Warts n all. It goes on a bit. I was going to mention the wife again but stopped myself! :?

Hi Roy thank you You could be right. most of the time I record at night and have fallen asleep while editing to wake up to a red screen full of markers as I had fallen asleep on the M key. But I must say I have never been given any of the good stuff. mine are just the run of the mill tabs that take you nowhere.

That flow went very well, Dave. That's a lovely ballad. Great post, thank you.

Hi Dave, very nice as always but long enough to be two songs and, it needs a name ? It could be background music for a film I reckon?
I have written a toon myself and call it "Windmills" but its nowhere near as complicated as yours and about a third of the lengnth ,I don't think admin would want it on here as it may lower the tone of the place.
Are you up for requests yet? Lets have another old Jazz standard on the C6th.......maybe Body and soul ?

Hi John thankyou I knew you would mention the length. I was just seeing where it would go. It was just doodling. My mate mike said film music. There are some bits that I liked that may form the finished song. Then I will name it. I hadn't heard Body & Soul. I had heard of the title so I you tubed it. Yes I will give it ago. I have found a suitable backing track. Just have to learn the chords & melody now.
