Have to agree with Willie, last Tuesday was a Hoot, who can beat steel guitar and home made shortbread. November is the last meeting of the year so a Christmas song would be a appropriate, pick one and play it. See ya next month. LDN.

Hi folks, last night we held our monthly meeting of the SSGW at Gartcosh. There were a good number of attendees, although some had chosen not to bring their guitars.
the night went well and a fair number of Christmas tunes were played by all, but, The tune of the night was Davie Holland's rendition of Sleigh Ride, in the style of some little known provincial player called Buddy Edmonds, or something like that. well done that man.

It was good to see Alastair Hogg back amongst us again, he is a fine player. unfortunately LDN could not make it last night due to health problems, but we struggled on manfully, John Craig very kindly provided us with a means of playing tracks, and Davie Withers provided the tracks, so it all came together in the end.

Once again I have to thank Jean and Gordon for supplying the Shortbread etc, so we had a wee break around 9.00 for that and a natter

Jim G. Gorrie, Robert McN, Haddock, Biggles, T. Tott, Dan, all of you in fact ( with the exception of Geoff of course, he has handed a sick line in ) but the rest of you, I will be writing to your mothers about you non attendance boys, so think on, and when, or indeed if you do return to class, you might have to spend some time on the naughty step, so there.

Once again lads, thank you for your continued efforts and you unfailing attendance at our monthly meetings, and a special thanks to John Craig for bringing the PA every month, it is very much appreciated.

as we have no meeting in December, might I take this operchancity of wishing you all a very happy Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year, and hopefully we will all meet up again in January 2023.

Thank you Mr Gamble for persisting with me and I accept my naughty step punishment. I will turn up one day to let you all try my setup as I appear to have followed a different path to everyone else. Perhaps when the price of diesel comes down a bit…..

I must second Mr Gamble`s thoughts on the night. Between us all we managed to pull off a very entertaining evening for both players and audience alike.
I have a spare laptop which I have configured with Band in a Box which I will take with me on future nights just in case we are in the same predicament. I have also downloaded all the tracks which have been emailed out by Donny over the last few years but it is not a definitive list so if anybody wants to email me tracks, mp3s or band in a box tracks, I can add them to the folder for an extensive library to be available to chose from on a night.
