Hi Guys, just a small reminder, there are only 3 more meetings then it's December, CHRISTMAS, I would also like to inform you that the October meeting will be our 10th anniversary, yes 10 yrs since we started in the " La Ronde " in Coatbridge, it has passed by very quickly. The tunes for this month will be :

last night at the August meeting of the SSGW we had the pleasure of a new member joining us, Barry Noakes. Barry is a musician who plays various instruments.
last night he was given a few pointers re chord positions and string grips, I think he shows promise.
Numbers were yet again down on the norm, but a fun night was had by all.
Thanks again lads for your continued commitment to this wonderful instrument and for your company and friendship.

Last night, at our monthly meeting of the SSGW we had a pretty good night 9 in attendance plus two visitors Gordon and Jean (who had made and brought Shortbread and truffles for us Mmmmm) we ran through a couple of tunes and I gave some of the guys a few pointers to take away and practice. Bob had brought a Fender 400 or 800 ( I don't really know the difference ) but he was not happy with something so it went back in the case sharpish, the reason I brought this up is, he played my guitar a few times last night and when he played Sweet Memories, well, if it sounds anything like that when I am playing it, lets just say I will be a very happy camper.
All in all it was a decent night and it was decided, that next month's meeting to celebrate our 10th anniversary would be a campfire night, a go as you please, bring any instrument you like and let's make it a night to remember.

My apologies for being MIA due to health reasons, a new time consuming venture and having to complete domestic chores.
Seat time has been non existent for months, but hopefully things will change soon.
In closing I totally agree with Willie and would just like to point out......It was…… much more fun being in your 20s in the 70s rather than being in your 70s in the 20s, so I’m about to re-live my 20’s and it’s a case of adventure before dementia! Brmm, Brmm!!!

Hello Willie, and all "SSGWers" - - - I'm still knocking around the planet.
As mentioned above by Rab Mac, although not lost, I've been 'all at sea' and in more ways than one.
Over the last few months I've had very little bum on seat time and that 10 string thing with the pedals and levers has become a bit of a stranger.
I was having some issues with intonation when pressing A & B together -- on their own, each pedal was taking their respective strings to the correct pitch but when pressing together, or rocking on and off it was sounding awful (with a capital AW). I decided to alter the pulling geometry at the bellcranks but it took far too long for me to get it belly up in its box -- other life stuff and all that . . .
I've now had a go at re-positioning some of the pull rods and had a couple of short bum on seat sessions but there's a way to go before it's seen in public. It's not being seen in public that's the issue - - - it's being HEARD that would be the problem!
I MAY make a visit to 'The Cosh' this month for the anniversary but it would only be as a spectator. (It's a bit of a worry to leave my wife alone with that thermostat that I've set to 10C ! )
