What a weekend. I have never laughed so much in my life. And when you are in the middle of a serious piece and look up to see Willie Gamble smiling at me with a set of Billy Bob Hillbilly teeth - well I just lost it. Good playing from all concerned and I certainly hope to meet up with Willie and Dave Holland again - as well as the others of course. It was good to see Chris Cummings who brought along a beautiful Clinesmith double neck. Todd Clinesmith purchased Paul Bigsbys' tooling etc and making replicas of the Bigsby steel guitars. The most beautiful pieces of birdseye maple I have ever seen. Us non pedal steelies had long and lengthy discussions on tunings etc - it was great.

As always thanks to Vicky and staff who did a great job and the room was beautiful. It was cooler too and a nice mist first thing in the morning across the village green made a real change from the 35 degree heat back at home.

God willing I will be back next year. Thanks to Tony for organising.

Hi guys, sorry I'm a bit late commenting on the NESGF, I've not been very well, struggling with the back pain. I would like to thank Vicky who organised a change of room for me to save having to climb the stairs, and to Keith who swapped his room for me. I thought the weekend although down in spectator numbers was still a quality weekend of steel playing. It was nice to have my 2 buddies Willie & Davy there and good to see the others, Peter, Derek, Mick & Tony. If I missed anyone out, I apologise. Hope to do it all again next year. Donny.

Here's Basil at the NESGF a couple of years ago (before covid!) Look out for the next one in August.
Unfortunately Basil & Pat live too far away now to attend, but there's still many others to hear.

Hi Tony, not long after the festival last year you mentioned that you were going to put some of the videos up.
Shortly thereafter your dog passed and you were in the process of training up a newly acquired pup.
Any news on the videos now

Hi Willie, Keith did it; see earlier post above. I'm about to book the next one (second weekend in August) - interested?
