Looking forward to coming down next Saturday. Can you tell me the format for the festival. As I remember it was an informal affair and that whomsoever (big word) wanted to play had the luxury of a few songs. Wouldnt want to hog the stage buddy. I`ve learnt another song since last time heh heh

Wow, what a great Festival, possibly the best yet.
Thanks to the 3 players from north of the border, LDN, Davy Holland and Willie Gamble. Their playing was brilliant and the “craic” was special too.
Also we had Tony Davis, Mick Hearn, Derek Evans and Peter Linsdley doing their stuff. And they all performed well.
I have videos of all players and will upload to YouTube over the coming days, then get them onto the Forum.
A huge thank you goes out to Vicky of the Buck Inn and all of her staff for making our weekend special too.
ps, the Full English Breakfast is as good as the Burgers Nick!

I can only speak for myself, but what a weekend. we arrived at The Buck Inn just before midday on Saturday to a fantastic welcome from all in attendance, I had seen most of the people either on video or in photographs, so It felt like I already knew them. we enjoyed some great playing ( from those who played ) and as they say,
The beer was good and the craic was mighty. I don't like to single anyone out but Mick Hearn's slants were to die for, he is a fantastic player.
Thanks very much Tony for arranging this event, the food was good staff were very friendly, what's not to enjoy.
and now it is confession time, After all my ranting in the past about lack of pictorial evidence of this event I arrived home without a single photo or video. Yes my head is hung in shame. I think Keith G will make up for my shortcomings

Keith could not of put it better.Great company ,The Steel playing was Top Draw.
Vicky and her staff were superb as usual, and the food was delicious.
It was great seeing Donny ,Dave,Willie ,Mick and Kay, Keith and Peter .Not forgetting
Tony who organises it all.Also our new friend from Blackpool I hope to meet him again
maybe in the future.

I too echo the comments of everyone above. The friendly welcome was just as it was when I last attended in 2019. Thank you Tony for keeping us a space next to LDN. The food was great and the craic was just like being at our monthly get together at Gartcosh. Maybe we could start a little festival in Scotland in the future. I`m sure it would be fun. Hopefully a third visit to Thornton Watlass will be on the cards for next year.
