The multi-pin socket is for a pluggable can capacitor. They were used on valve car radios in the 60s as smoothing capacitors. If it was for a valve you would need a power supply for the heater.

I'm not the person who is selling it mate, just helping the owner (who is an old boy in his mid 80's) to get the guitar seen. He is a friend of my nephew, and asked my nephew if he was related to me, hence how I came into the picture. He won't let the guitar go for less than a grand, and I can understand it knowing now how rare it is. When it's re-furbed I would put the guitar's value at £5K - £6K.

Still got the 10-string lap guitar that I bought from you. I have it tuned to C6, and it sustains for hours. Take care buddy.

I know I said previously that I had posted my last post, but the story hasn't been completed on this guitar. There has been a fair bit of serious interest in this Fingertip, and certainly whoever buys it will not only be the owner of an instrument that has immense historical value, but the owner will have a guitar that once re-finished and re-built will have incredible tone.
