Have I Told You Lately

Postby hickenjr » Thu Oct 21, 2021 9:39 pm

Hey guys, this is my first video of the year. A humble cover of Van Morrison/Rod Stewart's "Have I Told You Lately."

This has taken me a bit longer than anticipated due to me having loads of musical projects outside of YouTube but glad to get it out there for you.

Kind Regards, Steven Hicken Jr.

Great stuff, Steve! Some really lovely lines in there - and I very much enjoyed the brief appearance of the Pedabro! Really appreciate you taking the time to share this with us, thank you :guitar:

Nice work Steven! I also enjoyed the appearance of the pedalbro. How did you record it? It's got a great tone.

Thank you! Glad you like the tone of the Hudsonator too because I was recently told it sounds nothing like the original...

Nothing fancy really. I overdubbed it with my new mic (Lewitt LCT 440) and added a bit of reverb. Didn't do much EQ wise as it sounded pretty good natural so I left it at that. The new mic has really improved the tone to my ears. Much warmer and I took Danny Mitchell's advice regarding placing the mic higher too which has also helped keep it warm and clear.
