Time for another, Topic For Thumb Twiddler's.

So, you can take one tune (played on steel, of course), one dream guitar of choice, one dream amp of choice and a bottle of something palatable(with mixer, if required).

To get the ball rolling, here's mine.

Steel guitar would be a special edition D10 Emmons NOS Wrap Around ReSound'65 Generation 2 guitar from the new Emmons Guitar Co. fully loaded and with my setup 9 + 9 complete with splits and custom finish in red glass mica.

Amp would be my trusty Webb 614E complete with Travis Toy TT 15 speaker, and volume pedal - Telonics silver anodised FP-100 Multi-Taper volume pedal. Tone bar would be a Basil Bar 1" polymer special.

Bottle - 70CL of Gordon & MacPhail GLENTAUCHERS Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whiskey (distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2015) C/W a special Irish whiskey glass.

Killer tune, and I thinking that's the only style of steel you don't already have! It's a beauty! Interesting amp choice, I've heard Bob's Webb and that's a big sound. Very discerning tipple, too. If you're not careful you're going to end up on Ailsa!

To be honest Danny, there isn't much to choose between my Webb with an aluminium sound chamber and my Telonics TCA500 combo. But there is something classic about the sound that an Emmons push pull makes through a Webb 614E, especially the one with the internal sound chamber and 5 closable port holes. It's a very detailed sound with a huge bottom end.

What a great concept, Ken, adjustable ports to allow the 'tuning' of the bottom end! (I assume)
It's a wonder others haven't followed suit.

It is a great idea Danny. I just close off 2 of the front port tubes at the top, and keep the other 2 open along with a rear panel in the chamber. I have had to order a couple of mains electrolytic capacitors (10,000uf 100v) for it, as one of the original caps had gone short circuit. Not bad really - the first faulty component in 25 years.
