Hi Davie, Glad all went well and youre not missing any parts. That little phrase you nicked, I have copywrite on so you will be served some papers very soon. I will be expecting a large settlement so don't try to run, of course you can't, you have no crutches. Tough, your in with the big boys now. LDN

Sorry for my absence..(Note on its way Donny). Since my last post, the procedure I went through failed which left me no option but to go in for an arterial bypass. Before I went in I had to give permission that if the bypass didnt work, then my foot would be taken off there and then from below the knee.

NOW THE GOOD NEWS...

When i woke from the anaesthetic, the surgeon turned to me and said "You still have both feet, the bypass was successful"

I could have kissed him there and then..

I now have a scar from my thigh right down to my foot which will need to heal up before I can attempt any toones. :(

But at least I still can and will get back to playing again.

Cheers Guys and sorry again for the lapse in time por posting an update.

Davie

Good news for you at last Dave, you must have been very worried about the worst case scenario.
Now you just have 4 months to recover in time for this year’s NESGF!
Best regards.
Keith.

Just a wee update...

Was admitted to hospital for a week with a chest infection ....(Just call me lucky) and then re-admitted on my day of discharge with exhaustion and being sick.

Now I`m out of hospital again and starting to improve. My leg operation seems to be holding and is getting stronger by the day.

I know we are all looking forward tp when we can get back to playing, and this has given me a personal reason to beat this and get back out there again, (canny wait).

See you all soon and I`ll show off my scar to anyone who isnt squeamish!! :o :o  :? :?

Hi guys. It would appear that yet again I am to be the harbinger of sad news. Just a wee note to let all who care, know that Davie had his right lower limb amputated today.
We spoke at length this morning when he called me to inform me that his op was scheduled for 2.00 pm.
He was a little upset as you can imagine, I left him with this, the very fact that you play pedal steel points you out as a determined individual, because, if you don't have any determination, you wouldn't stick at it.
His reply was simply, " I'm going to beat this Willie" and I have the feeling he will.
It would be bad enough for this to happen to anyone, but for a steel player, this is devastating.
This I know is going to sound crass, but had it been his left foot.............well it doesn't bear thinking about.
Keep him in your thoughts lads

Asleep at the steel
