A short absence (I hope)

Postby Davie Holland » Sun Apr 04, 2021 7:55 am

I will have to be absent (for a little while I hope) from doing any pedal steel work. Unfortunately 44 years of being Type 1 diabetic have finally caught up with me and I will have to go in for a small operation on my right leg/foot.
Without going in to too much detail, I have been in serious pain for the last five weeks with Cellulitis on my foot, which has now been treated but I now have a hardening and narrowing of the arteries going to my foot. This has resulted in loss of blood getting to my toes and it looks as though one of them has gangrene.

I will be going in to hospital for a procedure on Friday to insert a tube from the top of my leg to the bottom and to try to "stretch" the artery in my ankle. This may result in it getting better but for how long I do not know.

I wull still be replying to posts etc, but if It sounds like gobbledegook (more often) I am blaming it on the morphine I am and will be taking.

Cheers for now guys and hope to be steeling again as soon as I am able.

Davie

Dave
I am saddened to read this post and wish you a successful recovery from your illness problems, I'm sure all our thoughts and best wishes for a successful operation will be with you on Friday and I hope that you have a speedy recovery, by the way if it's any consolation I can write goobblededoook at anytime without the effects of morphine, but it's people who read it that need morphine to kill their pain!
No longer slummin, I’ve got a Mullen and a damn good amp as well,
they’ll be well played, if not played well, seat time alone must tell!

Sorry to hear of your health problems Davie and I hope you recover soon. We met at the NESGF a couple of years back and hopefully you can attend there again soon. We were all very impressed with your playing.
