Anyone seen any of these two?

While this may not be part of the history of the pedal steel in the U.K., it's part of my own personal history.

Back from around the late 70s into the mid 80s I built 4 pedal steels.

Two of them were eventually sold (via Gerry in Newbury) and I'm wondering if any of them still exist?
Have any of you guys seen either of them out there at anytime in the last 30 odd years?

Do you still have the Fessy? Your wee hairy face has been missed at Gartcosh boy.
I can't wait for this virus to be over, so that we can get back to some playing, it would be nice to see you and your guitar sometime Jim.
I hope your quest to find you steels of yester year bears fruit.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, we're still managing to 'dodge the bullet' here . . . hope the same goes for you.
. . . and no, I don't have the Fessy now. It was just lying around in the room taking up space and not being used so it went over to Ted about 3 years ago.
However, I have been lurking here on the forum fairly regularly. You've probably noticed that I appear to be a 'new member' here on the forum -- I somehow got logged out and when I tried to sign in, the password I thought I knew didn't work! so I've had to re-register. (I couldn't re-set my password as the email linked to my log-in had long since been corrupted and was unusable --- and I couldn't log-in to change to a new email !!! [Catch 22?])

You're right about building these steels being a labour of love -- a L-O-N-G labour of love! . . . and right now I'm not ruling out the possibility of building another one??? Lots of stuff going around in my head.

Nice to see you back. Sorry to hear about your Fessy moving on, that was a great sounding guitar, and I doff my cap at your skills at building those guitars, what an undertaking. I hope you manage to track them down.

You know the first thing I clocked, when walking through the door at Gartcosh, was your nifty pick/bar bag. When I got home that night I immediately cut the pockets off my jeans. Voila! Two pick bags! Trouble was, after that, from behind I looked like a Village People tribute act

Danny ~ When things get back to normal I hope the lads at Gartcosh will have a whip-round to get you a new pair of jeans! Oh, and I've still got that pouch - along with the bar and picks!

Billy ~ Things here in the Honest Toon are probably much the same as at your place. Hope all is well with you and Anne. The last time we met would have been at "that club" (can't remember its name!) just off Leith Walk in Edinburgh a year or two after we first met at the Dallas show in 2006.

Hi Jim We actually first met at Drogheda when We were at the same B&B near the Europa hotel, perhaps 2003?
I cannot remember You being at Dallas though.The club in Edinburgh was the Tucson.

Did you actually expect me to remember back to 2003! . . . but you're right. Now that you mentioned it, I remember meeting you in Drogheda.
In 2006 we (myself, my wife Margaret and her sister + her husband) stayed at the Harvey Hotel. I think you and Anne were there as well? (Maybe The Red Roof?) Allan Thompson was there that year as well.

One of my self built guitars I mentioned in a thread ( viewtopic.php?f=13&t=13196 ) a couple of months ago has turned up. That guitar is now about 40 years old and it's about 35 years since I last saw it. It's presently up for sale for $950.00 --- YES, ~ that's U.S. Dollars, because someone, at some time has either taken, or had it shipped over the Atlantic as it's now located somewhere near Atlanta, Georgia.
I'm just a little surprised that it has survived 40 years but even more surprised by its location!
It's exactly the same as it was when I sold it except that someone has changed the aluminium peg heads and machine heads for different ones. Not sure I understand why they changed the original peg heads as mine were "stepped" for each machine head -- the replacements looks like they have come from a student guitar as they're just straight sided and the pegs are at that "slip angle" as they exit the peghead.
After all these years, and in view of its travels it hasn't even sent me a postcard!

That's incredible, Jim, and a testament to your building skills. If that guitar could talk I'm sure it'd tell an interesting tale.
