I just heard from his steel player Ronnie Miller that Charley had passed. This virus is genuinely dangerous to those of us of a certain age. Make sure you get vaccinated guys. RIP Charley - you crossed mountains to do what you loved. That was to sing country music to the masses.

Such sad news Charlie Pride was one of the greats of C & W. This virus is evil, an invisible enemy, and some people are not taking it seriously enough. My neighbous father died from it and 4 elderly residents at a sheltered housing near me also lost their lives, And still some people carry on as normal. A van driver asked me why i was wearing a mask whilst i was working, he said you dont believe in this covid rubbish do you, its 5G,there is no covid its all a conspiricy.

Again such sad news for 2020. The nearest I got to play for this great man was a short tour with Dion Pride ( Charlie’s son). Luckily his show was a tribute to his Dad so got to play those lovely Lloyd licks. RIP Charlie.
