Like many mature !! guys I was aware of the sounds of steel guitar from the recordings of Hank Williams but it was in the late sixties when I was in Singapore running aviation fuel to Vietnam and listening to U.S. Forces radio that I heard a lot of steel playing. The one player who made the biggest impression on Me was John Hughey and He will always be My favourite player.
I had the great pleasure of meeting and talking to John several times at the Dallas show and was astounded by His personality. He was very humble and genuine.
