Good to hear from you chaps. Callum, I hear ya buddy. It is very very tough. I feel like my dream is nearly over, it's certainly gonna have to shift a bit in this climate.

Always good to talk though or get stuff off your chest. Better out than in I say.

I just did the government retrain quiz and it turns out I should actually be a circus performer or a stunt double...apparently these are both more viable than pro musician. Go figure

Circus performer, I think, Matt. We're all juggling (geddit?) our lives at present. Here in rural Northumberland it feels fairly safe, even though nearby Newcastle is Covid ++.
Not playing much at the moment, having moved house and having some ill-health (nothing catching!). Much decorating, renovating and tweaking, which keeps me busy and out of harm's way. Hoping to get seat time over the winter, when I'll be able to see how much I've forgotten.
Good to hear you're ok, even if the work has dried up.
Best wishes to all.

Not in the best of health here, none Covid but struggling to play. We all have to stay positive. Best of luck lads.

Hank Wangford used to describe B J Cole's steel as an electric coffee table!

I once was complimented by our singer on my [lap steel] playing of the 'ironing board' - I contemplated getting my own back and doing the next gig using a small travel iron as a tone bar, but some practice at home showed that the two are not interchangeable...

Good to hear from you guys by the way. We're all doing OK here I think - kids are back at school, I'm back at work, partly in the office and partly from home. I need to carve out some more seat time, as I'm sure many of us do, but with no gigs looming I find it harder to be motivated. That said, I haven't given up by any means, and I'm sure I'll get a new wave of enthusiasm once I get started again.

Stay safe and take care!

Everything OK here so far. I am fortunate that within 1/2 mile I am out in the country so can walk the dogs in safety. I have also embarked on a new venture as a radio DJ/presenter for Cherokee Nation Radio which is an internet radio station based in the USA and in the process of doing the show have heard swing stuff that I have never heard before with some fantastic steel as well as other great music.

Keep safe everyone and lets hope this thing passes soon.

Well here we go again...another lockdown...thought I`d revive this as last post was Oct last year.

Seems like Covid will be with us for a while yet, and gigs are now non-existent (although a couple of record to tape sessions in the bag).

The Gartcosh Brethren is taking a bit of a pounding with our Reg been given bad news, and Donny and Barbara not in the best of health either..

I`m just out in the stix so not so much activity here but close enough to cause concern.

Thinking of setting up a "Secret Steelie Meet" ..looking for off grid locations!! lol :D :D
