A Tribute to Albert Lee

Postby Gary James Peters » Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:49 am

Hi All

To compensate those of you (3 or 4) who had to suffer my recent excursions into the hinterland of extreme weirdness, here is a track that's straight country pickin'. I've never met Albert Lee, but I did stand behind him in a queue at Heathrow Airport way back, which is good enough for me. This track is my approximation of his style. Obviously, I'm a bit better than him, unfortunately not at playing the guitar!

Enjoy!...I did putting it together.

Indefatigable! and more power to you, Gary.
Along with yourself, and gents like Mick Hearn, Alan Cook, Shakey, Mathew Jut, Steven Hicken and all the others who put themselves out there, you're all keeping this forum alive, and it's very much appreciated (even the weird stuff, it's all gravy)
Your guitar is sounding great, and as a tribute to Albert, totally fits the bill. Although, I did get a wee fright, thinking the worst, when I read the title. I first saw him at a free concert in Hyde Park (remember them?) in Heads Hands andd Feet, and have been a fan ever since, such an immense, and influential talent.
Thanks for posting.

I also thought it was going to be bad news but no, its a happy tune from Gary that can only win you some more fans. Saw Albert Lee at the Renfrew Ferry in Glasgow a few years ago with about 15 other people in the ‘crowd’. He didn’t care and did a great set anyway. One of the best!
