Finger picks

I use national picks, they have narrower band than Dunlops, and don’t have that big bit on band that can catch string in front. I put a little bit of cable heat shrink on one side of band ( outside one first finger and far side of middle finger , so bands with it don’t rub together) stick to fingers like glue. For thumb pick I use Zookies, these come in large and medium, and have an angled blade so you hit string flatter, they come in 10/20/30 degrees, personally I like the 20.

Yes, like Malcolm I also use National fingerpicks with heat shrink tubing and they never slip. For thumb picks I use Dunlop.
Having said that, I still sometimes just play with fingernails which never slip either, just break sooner or later !!!

It's amazing how many makes of fingerpicks there are. I wouldn't like to be a finger pick manufacturer, too much competition. Donny.

I use Nationals 0.25s I used to use 15s or 18s but i found they opened up too easily and became loose, maybe that says more about me than the picks, because I tend to dig into the strings.
On the adhesion to the finger subject, the finger licking principal certainly works ( Buddy was an advocate of it ) but if that sounds too gross, get in touch with a green bowler, they have stuff that stops the bowls from slipping, I keep a small container of it in my seat, just rub the tip of your index and middle fingers with it and hey presto.

I can usually hit the right strings, but not necessarily in the right order

I use Old 97 short length banjo picks, I read about them on the US forum and decided to give them a go, really like them and Judy who makes them is great to deal with, last time I ordered some she sent me an extra pair gratis. Like others I use heat shrink to give them the grip. I use a dunlop zookie 20 on the thumb, as Malcolm said these have an angle on the tip, 20° for the zookie 20 version. Feels right for me.

I'm sure some of you may have see this info, it was on the USA site, they were recommending using sticky pads, apparently used on nose pads on glasses, seemed a good idea, not tried it, I use .15's that I spent a lot of time shaping.

This is about thumb pick as opposed to finger but thought I'd just share this.
I've just bought a Herco blue thumb pick! It is so comfortable compared to the Dunlop, just about perfect.
