Think we might have it already

Postby Jif » Thu Mar 26, 2020 5:47 pm

Janice and I became quite unwell yesterday as the day progressed, sore head, throat, aching limbs and really bad vertigo, stumbling all over the place, (well more than usual!). It may just be another virus or a flu but we have gone into lockdown for the next 7 days. We both felt a bit better this morning but are mostly lying down today and consuming paracetamol.

A dose of the chills but no real fever as yet, so if we do have it it seems to be relatively mild so far. I spoke to the doctor this morning on the phone as I was supposed to go in for an appointment anyway and he advised not to take any chances, to lockdown and if it gets worse to phone 111.

We have been more or less in self isolation for a week and a half, I believe the incubation period is around 1-2 weeks, so we probably have had it for a while. It just goes to show how contagious this thing is and how widespread it is already.

So take care everyone and don't take any chances.

Aye, it would be rum do without the drink Donny

Fortunately our booze cupboard is well stocked, wait a minute, maybe that's why I'm stumbling about

Thanks Marc, it may not be corona 19 but it feels quite nasty so we're treating it as if it is. Next couple of days will tell.

This is not a drill folks! I live in the remotest of remote places on the edge of the most remote place in the UK you can think of, at the remotest corner in the village and today we got our first confirmed case. She’s in hospital and sounding cheerful but FFS- if it can happen where I live then the rest of you really should be getting some seat time in!
Geoff I hope its only a normal cold thing as other viruses haven’t gone away but keep me posted. And there was me nearly offering you a place to park your camper van as well......
Cheers

Wishing you both a speedy recovery, instead of the rum go veggie and try 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice with 200ml of tonic water. There's vitamin C in the lemon and Quinine in the tonic water, you can add gin, but your more liable to fall off your bike with that!
Whatever you do don't try any cure suggested by Calum! :o
No longer slummin, I’ve got a Mullen and a damn good amp as well,
they’ll be well played, if not played well, seat time alone must tell!

Get well soon Geoff and Janice. The latest figures show a sharp rise in the last 24 hours of those who have succumbed to the virus. Having read that I check what the average number of flu fatalities is in the UK per year. By golly, it is between 13,000 and 14,000!! If the Corona what'sit doesn't get us then influenza will. Donny's right - lets get pi$$ed and enjoy ourselves.

Here's to a very speedy recovery to you both. (glug glug)

Thanks folks, that's cheered me up

I am kinda hoping that it is corona in a way as long as it doesn't get much worse, it would get it over and done with. The next few days will tell. It's not pleasant but bearable atm.

We are already mainly veggie anyway, eat fish now and then, usually a lot of fish when we're at Calums 8-)

Whatever it takes nevada

Janice makes a nice hot drink from lemons and honey, the tonic water idea sounds interesting though Robert.

I have a couple of bottles of Tequila in the cupboard, so maybe that will come into play at some point in the near future Ken :P

Thank you all for you kind wishes, hope you all keep well or it just grazes you on the way past. Back to lying down now.

Just catching up with this. I truly hope your both okay and it doesn't get much nastier, Geoff.

Keep sipping that water and taking the paracetamol (if you can manage to get some) if you're heating up any.

And, I can't believe it's hit Calum's neck of the woods, there are still idiots round here mingling freely.

Just both get well, please. We need that Leftfield to flourish :guitar:
