Auction tomorrow (weds. 11/03/2020) Gardiner Houlgate lot 204 a white LLoyd Green Type DS10 3x4 starting bid £630.00

Also lot 244 a Paul Franklin 1992 8x6 D10 with lots of goodies, one owner from new starting bid £2700.00 both guitars look to be in very good condition.
Both these are on page No. 5 of tomorrows auction (the auction runs for 3 days, Wed. Thurs. Fri.) They are in Corsham Wiltshire.

Unfortunately no good to me because I am left handed.

Baz.

This Franklin looks incredible - definitely my dream to own one. Obviously £2,700 is way below the market value and I expect it to go for more. I wonder if they’d accept my right arm as payment?

Superb package but I was quite surprised to see that the buyer pays 20% on top of the hammer price plus vat on that fee. So a possible winning bid of £5k will cost the buyer £6200 with the tax being £200 and the auction house getting £1000 plus the £750 from the seller

Yes that is a win win for the auction house, the buyer and the seller both get screwed. If I wasn't left handed I would be bidding on this like a shot, in fact I did think about bidding on this as an investment. Someone might just be getting a good deal if the bidding doesn't go too mad.

The hammer price was £3400 which by My calculation means the buyer pays a total of £4216

Probably still a good bargain considering all the goodies that went with it. There is one the same on the Steel Guitar Forum in America where Paul Franklin told the owner to sell for $10.000.00. But the owner said he would take $8000.00 firm because he is moving house.
