Well played John, Ronnie has done some amazing builds and repairs/mods over the years, his work is second to none. I personally learnt a great deal from him, he took the time to explain the undercarriage and how it worked to me, and how to maintain my guitar. He added three levers to my old ShoBud Pro 1. Thanks Ronnie, don’t think you get the recognition you deserve, apart from that you are one of the nicest guys in UK steel scene.

Hi John, lovely to see that old Sho-Bud again. I bought that guitar many years ago from Clive Swindell. It was originally a D10 The cabinet had been re-lacquered but the mechanics were a train wreck. I shipped the guitar to Ron Bennett and he worked his magic on it. When it came back to me I made and added the pad. With 4 pedals and 4 k/levers and a tone to die for, thats all you will ever need. Is it for sale?

Ted I will sell it but it is not a cheap guitar, Second to my "Bolt on" Emmons this is the guitar I would play myself, you are right about the tone but there is more in it than that, something to do with the gearing between the shobud mechanism and ron's transmission, The pedals are light and positive but fast compared with my Emmons and yet a half pedal is still easy to achieve, I love these old round fronted Buds and this one should really be a keeper.
The 2 up and 1 down should be a limiting factor but Ron has easily overcome that as is proved by the double lower on the 2nd. I have a guy coming on Friday and I think he may deprive me of this beautiful machine but I promise I will not make it easy for him!
