"How Many Lights Do I Have To Shine"

Postby mick hearn » Tue Dec 31, 2019 10:47 am

Those of you who attended the NESGF will know that my daughter Kay sang a couple of songs. Recently she covered a song written by Ginny Peters, a song writer from New Zealand. As a result she has had lots of plays on New Zealand radio. To top that Ginny was so pleased with the result that she gave Kay an unpublished song she had written. Kay did her work on it and came up with her ideas and then the call came. "Dad I need your steel" so I helped out with Remington lap steel and guitar work.

She got a reply from Ginny's husband today "Wow what a wonderful way to end 2019, we just love what you have done with the song, the arrangement is just so good. Thank your Dad also for his great work.

That is one thing that Ginny really enjoys with songwriting, hearing what how artists interpret her songs and you have done her proud."

That’s a nice feelgood story Mick. Kay and yourself did a great job with the song too.

Thanks boys. So far it has been played on a country music station in New Zealand. Three plays on internet radio - 2 in New Zealand and one in Northern Ireland. Kay is certainly pleased.
