I thought this might be of interest, My friend bought this guitar in a derelict condition and as it only had one Knee lever that was not doing the job he wanted it to , I volunteered to take it home and fix it up a bit for him as I already had a few Emmons type levers that I had previously made modeled on the levers of my 71 D10 well, its taken me nearly 4 days!! and my kitchen looked like a bomb had hit it but, I think Emmons got it right! The"Black Rock" is now beautiful playable and all grown up now and worthy of some further investment in the shape of a set of legs and a quick release pedal board. The damage to the side skirt caused (not by me! ) by a clumsy re-positioning of the restraint bar in the first pictures I have repaired, this bit does an important job as the cross shafts are slightly spring loaded against the side skirts.
My ability to demo this axe is severely limited by the weird set up of the owner, but I will probably try...... if he leaves it here long enough...

Did you know that that capacitor on the tone control is a VERY rare item and is extremely desirable in Fender Telecaster circles ? Obviously original, I've seen them change hands for upwards of £50 in Fender circles..

Yes Baz, I know all about the Flux capacitor,They had one fitted to a Delorean car and it traveled in time but at this point I am more interested in the Bridge Chords of "Body and Soul" now, if I am playing in D................??

Does the second string only lower a half tone ?
I'm assuming from the lack of a raise spring (holding the second finger in the raised position) that that is the case

Hi Richard, thanks for the feedback at this time it is lowering 2 a full tone and I am feeling the half position, if it gets the half tone stop depends on how long I have got it for as it seem to get more done every day.... Last night I decided the L.Kn.Left was too far into the guitar for an Emmons set up but did not want to move the transmission components and put more holes in the base so I made it an L shaped top end of lever (see pic) and it gained me about an inch

The half stop position is an in-built feature of the push-pull mechanism, you don't need to add anything, it's all in the way it's set up.

Use a spring to pull the finger to its raise position ie touching the body.

Don't have a collar on the push rod that lowers the finger, have the rod go through the lower finger till it touches the raise finger

Then just use the end tuners in the normal fashion

Re. your modified knee lever, will the lid on the case clear it ?
