This will be repaired this week sometime with new parts and some TLC, the guitar is at least 42 years old 20 of which were spent under the floor in a case and wrapped in polythene, corrosion was not a surprise but the fact that it still works is!
The impedance on the first tap from the split winding was 9.75 ohms and the second gave a reading of 13.75 ohms,
I have a similar unused pick up that's been in a bag for 40 odd years
but that only reads at 6.05 ohms on one tap and 12.65 ohms on the second tap.
Has the unused pup lost magnetism giving a lower reading?
Or could it just be down to the fact that both pups were hand wound ( on a machine ) and different values are to be expected ?
Any information on the subject would be appreciated, but the guitars a good one and probably a " keeper "
( for this week at least )
