Due his new fitness regime using a bullworker whilst wearing a gym slip, Geoff missed a very enjoyable evening.
As no one else has reported back on the meeting I thought it only right to let him and others know what they missed, a turnout of about 11 included a new face who had just recently acquired a Sho bud Maverick and wants to learn pedal steel, his name is Luke and he came up from Saltcoats, causing a certain person to elaborate on the virtues of that seaside town's cuisine and it's occupants.
Our own Mr Adams brought along the blue Emmons that Mr Gamble dreams about but the cat that normally adorned it was missing, instead it was Bob who was the cool cat playing that wonderful instrument, and although Wullie joined him in some accompaniment he looked a bit " sullen on the Mullen ".
To add to his pain Bill McKillop turned up a bit red in the face, carrying an even brighter red twin neck Emmons Le Grande, I had never noticed Wullies green eyes before but they shone brightly as he sat beside that blue Emmons or was he just dazzled by the red one in front?
The tone from both guitars was superb and enjoyable to hear, one "old face" who had honoured us with his presence, became so relaxed that he fell asleep, much to the amusement of the ones who ridiculed him.
His Lordship was in good form and along with his long awaited retirement, he has now taken up a new position at the bar, as a " Justice " of the peice.
The " toon's " were played in the usual variety of styles and no one was injured by the arrows flying about.
Three " toon's " and it still remains unclear as to what was meant to have been played on the night.
The right tempo and style for each one, was part of the discussions held before, during, and after each performance.
Let's hope all who missed this one have enough energy left to Manage the next meeting, and Danny "lay aff the lannie" for March!
