Alas Billy Lindsay is no longer with us!

Billy phoned me some weeks back to say he was in the latter stages of the big C and wanted to move his gear! I made a few suggestions an awaited his response, I've learned tonight via Donny he has passed away, so sad! another good guy leaves us! RIP Billy!

I just can't believe we have lost another lovely man. I didn't know that Billy was fighting this :censored: disease. The last time I met up with him he put on a usual smile and a brave face, this is awful news and I am so sorry. My condolences go to his family and friends. God bless you Billy.

I am gutted and disgusted at myself for not going to see Billy, he called me around the beginning of December and told me what had happened, I said I would get down to see him and I didn't manage. Last Tuesday I was working on Mull and I decided to give him a call while I was on the ferry, I got an answering machine, left a message, when I was on the the way back his son called and told me his Dad had passed 2 wks previous. Billy was hard working, funny, and one of the nicest people I knew, I would meet him in Ayr for a coffee when I was working there, He would come up to my house with his steel and we would do a little bit of picking. I still remember the smile on his face when he got all the way through Mansion on the Hill at one of our early meetings. I'm going to miss him. RIP Billy.
