Sho Bud 6139 (1977)

Postby Jimbolarue » Wed May 04, 2011 4:30 pm

Hi Guys, I have the above steel for sale. I bought this from the late John Edmed in Denmark street, London in about 1977.
John put on 2 extra levers for me (at 30 quid a time!) and I added two more shortly after. It now has 5 levers (hey I can count!)

Can you tell me what would be a fair price for this?
Of course if there is any interest I will put up some photos.

Thank you.

Hi Jim.

Sorry to hear you are selling up. You were one of my best pupils. It would have been Ron Mawn who put your additional levers on your guitar. John used to leave all of that type of work to Ron, who now lives just up the road from me.

Anyone buying this guitar will be getting a first class instrument.

Hi Ken, nice to hear from you, mate.

Ron Mawn, yes I couldn't remember his name. I used to spend hours in that shop before I met you.

Thank you for your kind words. Just turned 70, Ken, getting too old to be lugging guitars and amps around, and I must admit I have lost interest a bit. Still have my old Telecaster Custom, though, not letting that go! Worth about 2 grand plus, I'm told.

I'm really into portrait photography, now. Just as much gear, lol but a lot lighter.

Take care Ken me old mate. Really nice to hear from you.

Hi Jim
I have a Pro 1 3 X 4, same colour as yours and in great condition. I think it is 1981. Narrow pedals and straight levers. I paid £800 then another £200 and something to have two more levers made and fitted. I don't really know if this is the going price but I think it is worth every penny!
I hope this gives you an idea of what you could expect to sell it for. Good luck with the sale.
Regards
Phil
