Alan Morgan

Postby Uncle Roy » Tue Nov 27, 2018 12:46 pm

It's with extreme sadness to report the passing of my dearest mate and co founder of the British Steelies Society Alan Morgan.
Alan co founded the BSS with myself 42 years ago but due to ill health resigned 15 years ago. He had been in and out of hospital several times and had been looked after in a nursing home for about ten years.
Alan like all of us was passionate for the pedal steel guitar and was a wonderful player. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
My condolences to his sons Mark and Ian and their families. Rest in peace dear friend.

I have very happy memories of the early meetings at Pucklechurch all those years ago. One which stands in my mind is hearing Alan playing
a beautiful version of 'The Old Rugged Cross.'
So sad to lose another friend and player.
A lovely man and super Steelie.
Deepest sympathy and condolences to his family.
R.I.P Alan

I am currently away in Skipton Yorkshire and have only just heard this really sad news from JD. I met Alan several times at Uncle Roy's meetings both at Pucklechurch and Siston. Alan was a really nice gentleman and a really lovely player. He will be very much missed by everyone that knew him. RIP Alan.

Roy, I never had the pleasure of hearing Alan playing, but my sincere condolences to you for the loss of your good friend.
The big man upstairs is getting too many good musicians these days, there must be a phenomenal band up there now.
