Changer, pickup, neck, head, pedals, etc

Postby RichT » Thu Aug 30, 2018 11:28 am

I have some very good quality parts which used to be the C6 neck from a ‘70s vintage D10 PSG by the English builder Clifford White.
Comprises complete changer assembly, pickup, cast Aluminium head with machine heads and compensated roller nut, neck with fretboard, and 5 off cast aluminium pedals complete with their chromed steel pull rods.
I’ll throw in a number of return springs with adjusters, Blanton-style fully adjustable bellcranks, and a brand new Illuminated Fretboard (search Youtube for “Illuminated fretboard for steel guitar” to see one).
Price is 400 UK pounds including postage (UK mainland only).

More details…
Changer housing: One-piece cast and polished aluminium.
Pickup: 4-wire. Colours red, white, green black, and shield. Approx 15Kohm Impedance according to my small meter (photo).
Changer: (3 raise , 2 lower).
Raise & Lower finger material is 1/16” (1.6 mm) thick chrome plated steel, and the Control finger (ie the rotating bit that anchors the string) is chrome plated brass.
Machine Head casting: One-piece cast and polished aluminium with integral nut.
Roller Nut: Chrome plated steel Rollers are compensated for string gauge. (photo)
Machine Heads: These are the original ‘70s vintage Japanese manufactured units (probably Gotoh).
Neck: Maple stained very similar to ShoBud LDG green/blue with inlay. Fretboard is black acrylic with metal frets fitted. The position markers could do with being lifted out and replaced.
Pedals: Cast and polished Aluminium
Rods: Chromed steel with quick-release balljoints.

I'd be interested in this but I live in Ireland so shipping would be costly. Any room for negotiation on price?

Hi Roy, sure I can absorb the cost of shipping and insurance for you.

All I really need is the changer and the pick-up housing Richard. I have a BMI custom built steel and I want to change the pick-up for an old Sho-Bud but the string spacing is wrong. Would you be willing to sell me just those please?

Sorry, Rod - they need to be kept together because they are not standard ShoBud or Emmons string widths.
The only items that could be spit off are the pedals with pull rods.

Oh, so they wouldn't suit the Sho-Bud pick-up anyway?

If you look at the photo of the changer you'll see that the string spacing is 3/8" (9.6mm approx).
I don't know what YOUR pickup spacing is - I believe that Sho Bud has at least 2 different spacings, one of which could well be 3/8".
