Hi Ted, this has been on here for almost a day, how come "The Driver" hasnt relieved you of this, is it because it is made from wood?

Willie - That guitar looks identical to one that Ivor brought back to the UK from a Dallas Show. It's a superb instrument from every angle.

Right on the money Mr Ken...Your memory is still sharp

I'm reluctant to sell it but I have a new S10 ,,,The same as Mitchell is using now on order...

Problem is ..There is a 11 month waiting list on all guitars from MSA

MSA sold 27 guitars at the Dallas show on Thursday,, Before the show even opened...

Everybody now wants a new XL signature guitar

A lot of money ,,but then so is a Rolls royce

There was an XL for sale at £4,600 in Italy recently Ivor, and it was in immaculate nick. I doubt if you've used yours very much since you brought it back from the USA, and someone will get a really nice guitar. If I could offload my blue Show Pro I might be interested in taking your guitar off your hands.

MSA have got a few great players flying the flag for them at the moment, which can't but help keep the interest in their products. I had a good look at Spencers SD10 MSA when I visited him last year, and it's a real beauty.

Hope you're keeping well my friend.

Ken, although the Legend you mentioned was £4600, I think Ivor’s is actually worth more than the asking price of £5000 for the following reasons, 1 the wood is special, and therefore more expensive( and extremely scarce ) 2 it has more levers and pedals than standard models 3 this guitar is in “leaving the factory “ condition and virtually uplayed. 4 any one buying one from factory ( to this spec) would be paying large amounts in tax and shipping, taking it way way above the asking price of this one, plus the twelve month appx wait for a factory guitar.
This is a fantastic buy for someone. :D

It's swings and roundabouts Malcolm and a guitar is only worth what it can sell for. Saying that, the Legend XL in Italy was originally built for Maurice Anderson, and he would have had the factory (Mitchell and Kyle) go the extra mile with its construction. I can't remember if you were in Dallas when Ivor bought his beauty but Spence was, and both of us saw the lengths that Ivor went to to prise it from Mitchell's grasp. There were a lot of tactics employed, and in the beginning Mitchell would not sell it under any circumstances - full stop. As Ted states above, it was designed and built for Mitchell. The Driver just wore him down, and in the end waved cash under Mitchell and Kyle's nose. There was another person who badly wanted the guitar, but once Ivor had made his mind up that he wanted the guitar he was like a dog with a bone.

It was the year that Jeff (Jiff) bought his 12 string MSA. I haven't planned on buying an MSA, but Diana won't let me buy another pedal steel unless I unload one of my collection. I have 2 Show Pros so.........I'd let one go as I only use my custom built one. My blueburst Show Pro (The Tommy White model) is as it left Jeff Surratt's workplace and has Mike Johnson's set up on it. I remember Mike's tone at Dallas with his blue Show Pro - it was incredible and I just had to sit next to him and jam with him. :o Watch this space.
