Teea Goans, Mike Johnston, Randy Travis

Teea has a great voice and style so I clicked on this link, what I didn't expect was the delivery and the audience present... All superstars in their own right but I was most moved by the presence of a unique voice of country and a man I have admired throughout his career, Mr Randy Travis.

I recall being on the edge of my seat watching him in the Glasgow Pavilion many years ago!

Watch him at 1.49 appreciating Mike's playing and Teea's delivery at 3.19 ... Randy's body is failing him but his brain is certainly not.

I confess this brought a tear... am I ashamed? .. absolutely not!



If you have health and strength and at least most of your faculties..... be very grateful!!

I love the string separation when Mike plays up in 'Hugheyland'. The notes sustain and ring with a bell-like tone. He loves that old red Emmons, which is fairly beaten up when you get right up close to it. The rig: An Emmons push pull into a Franklin stereo pot pedal into a vintage Peavey LTD amp with an Eminence EPS-15C speaker retro fitted by Mike. His tone is what I describe as immaculate. I saw Teea Goans get up out of the audience once and sing with Mike's band 45 RPM. She was very good, especially as she had to follow Rhonda Vincent and Daryle Singletary. Daunting for any country vocalist.
