There are a number of signature Eminence speakers designed for steel guitar. Paul Franklin, Travis Toy, Tommy White and Mike Johnson all have some kind of affiliation to Eminence. Almost all of the lightweight neo speakers that the company produces have a lot of top end, with the exception of the Travis Toy (TT) range. The Franklin speaker has a smoother and warmer top end. However, most players these days are trying to reduce the weight of their gear, and the Franklin speaker has a heavier magnet on it. The Eminence 12C and 15C models have aluminium domes and are very close to the old JBL D series in sound reproduction, but can handle far more wattage than the JBLs ever could. Mike (15C) and Tommy (12C) seem very pleased with sound of their speakers, and the light weight of them.
