Yes 'twas a great night as ever and all the better for our visit from St Neot's Royalty, that was long overdue JD! and a big effort but most certainly appreciated by all 'The Brethren of the Bar' You had that push /pull sounding great John and played it with such enthusiasm! Hope you have a safe journey back overnight tonight! Nice work from you too Mr Holland such a clean sound! Also good to see our visitors Mr McMaster c/w a young lady from the US (I'll let him explain!) and a surprise visit from Mr McKillop. The playing tonight was a tad random but hopefully there will be the odd gem on video in due course, thanks John Craig for manning the camera for me. I'll get on it as soon as I can! As for me I thank you all for your concerns on the family front, much appreciated, what a 'salt of the earth' genuine bunch of guys! There are none better than steel players! Strange to think that when we first met you Danny you didn't have a steel, now you are an integral part of the family! How things have progressed!

I heartily agree, Davie and Bob In fact it was quite a red letter day down Gartcosh way, what with our TWO, far flung, visitors in da house

JD, steeling out of St Neots, Englandshire, was on great form and it was a real pleasure to hear his lovely Emmons in action. My favourite tunes were Wichita Lineman, Back Home in Indiana and Vern Gosdin's song... If you're going to do me wrong do it right, excellent stuff John, thank you

(Sweet) Sue from Petersen Tuners, Illinois was brought along by Malcolm. And considering the amount of quality, Stateside, steel conventions Sue must have attended she did very well to tough out some of the stuff we were dishing up Luckily, some of the gents were on top form and managed to raise the bar

I was very pleased to see Bob, his current setup of the MSA Millennium and Webb amp makes for a big sound, sweet

I reckon using the 'karaoke singer' tracks gave a nice change of pace from the usual instrumentals, and it was interesting to hear the different approaches to backup playing.

Thank you all for the warm welcome I really enjoyed my visit and the chance to put some faces to their names...... I would have been home by about 3 am if It had not been for the A1 being shut at Grantham, there was me thinking I would be home in half an hour and I had enough diesel that is until I went on the diversion TO NOTTINGHAM!!! I arrived on the outskirts of Nottingham running on fumes, put another 40 quid in the tank and spent another couple of hours on the diversion until eventually let me back on the A1 at Stamford.......... arrived home just after 6 am..... And I still think it was worth it
The spirit of mastering the steel guitar is alive and well at Gartcosh and they all gave it their best shot, I thought the plank players showed a lot of skill and enthusiasm they were fun to watch, and it was a treat to see Bob manage to get out with all he has on his plate ..... So its just a big thank you for a very memorable evening.

Here is my tuppence worth on Tuesday night at Gartcosh, what an effort John Davis put in to visit us and I was more than blown away by his playing, fantastic John, and I think you slotted in to the style of humour we have up here among the Brethren of the Bar. Come back again any time.
The young lady accompanying Mr McMiser was none other than Sue Haslam from Peterson Tuners, I first met Sue 10 years ago at the Dallas Show, and it was lovely to make her acquaintance once again, she very kindly brought some Jagwires over for me. She is currently over on holiday and is staying with Malcolm and his wife.
Thanks again lads for your company and playing on Tuesday night, it was as ever a joy.
I agree 100% with what JD said about Bob Adams, it was great to see him attend, what with all his current family concerns.
We are ALL rooting for you Sir
