Request to Jim Pritchard

Postby Basil Henriques » Sat Aug 19, 2017 1:53 pm

Hi Jim,
It' s regarding your "Review" of the Ezzee~slide Tone Bar...Whose bar was it you used ??....please send me a list of the players at Long Ashton and I can then contact them and sort this out. If you can't send me a list then please tell me who would have a list of the attendees ?
Maybe someone reading this knows, maybe someone reading this is the one who loaned you the bar to try ? I need to replace it ASAP

IT is VERY important, as I make the bar you publicly criticised on Facebook, and if there's a faulty one I need to replace it, rather than have adverse publicity about sustain. Especially as it's not the case. My bars are equal sustain to an equivalent steel bar.. I'll prove it later with a video..ON LINE.. BUT I really need to find out whose bar you used as they may think that the lack of sustain is normal..

Are you sure it was an Ezzee~slide Tone Bar ? and not a 'Tribotone' ? One of the players there said to me this morning
"Hi Basil. I wasn't aware that Jimmy P had tried one of your bars. It certainly wasn't my bar because mine sustains as well as any stainless or steel bar."

I've sold hundreds of bars and none of the users have said the sustain is worse, in fact a lot of them have ceased using stainless altogether. I need to get to the bottom of this as the sustain comment is already beginning to affect my reputation. Especially now that a company in the USA has started to make similar bars in direct competition to me with a price structure copied directly from my site.. Instead of sales enquiries i'm now getting questions about the sustain..

I only make these bars as a service to my fellow Steel Guitar Players, with great personal danger to my health I may add; BUT I enjoy it, or at least I was until this debacle.

PLEASE Jim find out whose bar you used as I need to replace it immediately, that is, if it was one of mine that you used.

Respectfully,
Basil..

I can honestly say the bar I bought from Basil a few months ago is brilliant. Both in tone and sustain.

I cant fault it at all and will be quite happy when the winter nights come in and I am not taking a freezing cold bar out of my steel case.

The action is super smooth and warrants high acclaim together with Basils personal lifetime guarantee.

Are there any questions?

I have to concur with all that Davie has said, I have had one of Basils bars since December last year, my steel bar has not seen the light of day since. Donny.

I hope to get one as well :( I am saving all my gig money for it and if Baz is still in production I reckon by 2019 (Around August time) I should be good to go.... Hey I might even get to try Davy's bar on Tuesday :D

John you can try my bar no probs...its a 7/8" 10 string bar with a wee bit more weight than the typical, to almost match the weight in my bjs bar. A Basil Special.. :)

No complaints here - Love it.

2019? - JD - I should think from the profit you make selling steels you should be able to afford several. Only kidding.
ShoBud 6139 - Remington Steelmaster - George Boards 8 String - Gretsch Country Gent - National Twin 8 Console x 2 - National New Yorker and a shed full of guitars.
