Volume pedal

I need to buy a volume pedal and have been looking around at some. Before I part with cash, does anyone have any views on a good one to go for? Seen some on ebay but am not sure yet.

Ruby - there are 2 types of volume pedal. One type uses a potentiometer, and the other is electronic and doesn't. The Hilton, Goodrich and Teltronic pedals are the electronic type but are a ittle on the expensive side. Pot type pedals worth going for are Sho-Bud, Emmons, Fender, Goodrich and Ernie Ball.

Ruby, You pays your money and takes your choice My preferance is the Telonics pedal (electronic) but twill cost you about 400 quid!! but having been let down in the past by electronic pedals (not my Telonics) I always carry a spare "pot" pedal just in case.... as it will do the job almost as well. you should be able to find a used Goodrich or similar for around 70 to 100 quid that would be more than adequate...if you go for something cheaper try to get one where the plug in and out is on the right hand side and not coming out of the front........ this will become obvious when your setting up. If cash is really short I have a spare Emmons type Skeleton type pedal that I have adapted to clip on the pedal bar you could have for 50 quid....hope this helps ....JD

some good sound advice from the guys there Ruby, my own advice to you as a newbie would be the above Behringer, at less than 25 quid, brand new, it represents fantastic value, and as you hopefully develop as a player, you can start to look at more expensive options, as your behringer would then go on to become a spare, i too had a bad experience with an electronic pedal [ a hilton] when the cheap chinese power supply supplied with the unit, packed up on me, and left me high and dry on a gig, i never trusted the hilton again, with the flimsy cable trailing across the stage floor, and some guys have complained of too clinical a sound off the hilton, saying the pot pedal gives a warmer, more natural colour, something i agree with, i have never tried a telonics, so cant comment except for the price, lots of good reports, but 400 quid? not for a newbie methinks, and not for me after my experience, just my opinion Ruby, your money and your choice, good luck, Eddie
