Home from hospital

Postby john roche » Wed Feb 23, 2011 8:49 pm

Just to let you all know I had my spine operation and back home. So far everything is on track , able to walk and climb the stairs.
It will be a while before I can play again because of the damage to the spine was so bad. I have two rods and four screws fitted to the spine.
Not sure if that makes me a push pull or a push over. My advise to all you steel players is LOOK after your backs, it's not worth the pain carrying them big amps and twin necks steels....John

Best wishes for a full recovery John. That's a big op that you've had.

There is probably not one of the older players on this forum who hasn't had back problems from time to time as a direct result of lugging pedal steels and amps around. A D10 ZB and a twin reverb with JBL's did my back on a numer of occasions in the 70's.

Thnk God for split and wheeled cases, and lighter weight amps.
Show Pro D10 (amber) 8 + 6, MSA Signature XL D10 (redburst) 9 + 6, Sho~Bud D10 (sunburst) Pro 111 8 + 6, Emmons D10 Push Pull - (black) 8+5, Zumsteel D10 (blue) 8 + 8, Hudson pedal resonator, 10 string lap steel. Telonics, Peavey & Webb amps,
