Yes John, and I really don`t want to resort to this because it would be a shame to do this to this beautiful old BUD,but i have put it on here a few times as a trade and it seems no one is interested in this old girl, as a trade for a decent 12 string Universal or as a PX for an SD10 and so I have to either trade for something a bit lighter or do a Lloyd Green and remove the back neck, and save quite a bit of weight that way, it is in very nice condition for a 40+ year old and is such a nice playing and sounding steel and no Pot Metal, also I won`t miss the C6th neck very much because I can get a good enough C6th sound from the E9th for the swing numbers we play in the band, so unless something comes up in the near future that is what I will do.

I hear what you say Jimmy, but it is still almost sacrilege to strip off the C6 neck. If I didn't already have a Pro 111, I might have been tempted to make you an offer you couldn't refuse for the guitar just to preserve it in the mode that it was manufactured. I fully understand your motives, but it is still a great pity for the guitar to end up at just 50% of its capability. It's akin to having a classic car that is stripped down for parts because it has a higher value to dispose of it in that way.

Please don't think that I am being over critical, as I carefully read your justification and fully understand why you should wish to take such drastic action. :o

Hi Ken, thanks for your input, but as I said I have put this really nice old Pro111 on the BSS as a trade for a decent 12 string universal or as a PX against a SD10 and had no interest at all only offers to buy, and I did state trade only ,but to put your mind to rest, I will not sell the parts so it can be put back to it`s original state if I decide to sell, it is very easy to dismantle and put back together a few hours work and it will be back to it`s original D10. So all is not lost, and if I go ahead with the removal I will be able to cope a bit better with the less weight .
