Emmons to day

Postby rogerp1 » Wed Jun 15, 2016 3:53 pm

Thinking of changing my set up to day as I can't seem to get used to the emmons setup. Am I ok to change things over with the strings in tune or do I need to slacken things off? Should have probably done this before I put the new strings on but I tend to do things back to front

Strings can stay on. You only need to change over A and C pedals plus put your E changes on your left knee.

Seems fairly simple on this GFI A & C and both left knees need swapping

You may need to adjust the pedal heights and knee lever angles as well, for your leg/ankle to be comfortable as you will be "centering" your foot slightly to the right of where it's been working and "rocking" it the opposite way. Keep checking until it really feels right, it's important. T :geek:
(The A pedal travels further than the B, so you need to get them bottoming out together where your ankle is happy AND you can comfortably raise either side of the foot to "pedal-off" one or the other.)

Cheers Tony, I have been playing Day for some time but this new guitar has Emmons set up so I have been trying to get used to it but I think it's probably easier changing the set up than changing my brain. The levers are Ok I think

Yeah Roger, it's the other way for me. I had a "Day" set-up ZB a while back and it was the guitar that forced me to practice more C6th, it was the only neck I could play on :o T.
