Ha ha! Like it Malcolm.
But I've earmarked my next bit of 'spare' for a telonics volume pedal.

Meanwhile, I'll carry on enjoying my fellow forumites' reports in a vicarious stylee :guitar:

Just get Hilton pedal or put Dunlop pot in your Carter pedal, that's what I have, lot cheaper and the Hilton sounds as good as the Telonics( without all the bells and whistles), and that's two hundred quid you've got towards you Dallas trip.
MSA Millennium SD1O, GK MB200,Sica 12 and Telonics 15 speakers , Joyo American Sound pre amp, Jay Ganz Straight Ahead 500w class D Amp, Hilton pedal, Peterson tuners,Digitech RP150,Scott Dixon seat/ flight case.

McMiser is in money saving mode. Watch out.

I wonder if he would have got his wallet out over here? Nah - no chance. When he goes to the States he lives on the peanuts that they leave on the bars and drinks water 'cos its free.

When his 2 kids were small he told them that the gas meter was a moneybox!!!!

Still on a high following last night's show. It's only a tiny little venue, but the atmosphere was just incredible. 7 top class country singers on the show - better than the Opry!!

Was supposed to meet up for lunch today with Tommy White, but he cried off suffering from flu. :o However - Plan B - Mike Johnson has invited me out to a place next door to my hotel. Am I ever going to enjoy that! :D

Went to Jeff Surratt's place for a spell, and had a look at some of his guitars on the production line. He is really busy this week. A couple of photo's to follow. Jeff asked after Malcolm today as he didn't see him at Dallas. I said that he was in the throes of buying a money counting machine!

I am certainly not buying your old one, it is like one of those one armed bandits, rigged in your favour ;) Diana has sent me one of your herd, I told her it was cold up here and needed firewood. Safe journey back :guitar:

Picked up two waifs and strays and took them to dinner this evening. Mike and Joanie Johnson, plus Manfred Schall from Germany.

Lovely evening talking steels, country music and our lives. We put the world to right. :D

Danny Mitchell wrote:Great pics. Must've been an awesome show with that line up, and a 'banjer', to boot! Killer steel, top vocals, sweet harmonies and beer :guitar: :guitar: :guitar:
I've been keeping a pretty tight lid on it but some envy has just oozed out of my jar
Sounds/looked like an amazing night. Thanks for sharing Ken.

The band used the banjo for one number - Ray Stevens' Misty. The backing sounded just like the record, and when it came to the steel guitar break...................Mike had it pretty well note perfect. Damn he's good. :D

I concur, having seen the YouTube clip of him playing Night Life for The Big E, where he spoke so affecting about Mr Emmons, he seems like a true gent.
Ray Steven's version of Misty is an extremely clever arrangement of that old standard that works so well.
Thanks again for taking the time to post all this, much appreciated. :guitar:

MJ's version of Nightlife on that YouTube video is just outstanding (let's leave "awesome" to our cousins across the pond! ). Even for a seasoned pro like Mike that must have been real pressure.
