Malcolm, I spent some time with Mike Brown in the Peavey Room. I asked him for a USA price for the new
Session 115, and he tells me the price has not been confirmed yet, but, he reckons it will be around $1695.00.
He could not confirm if the amp will be available in Europe, .... Personally I dont reckon it will. The Nashville 1000
and the Session 2000 were made for the North American market only, so I reckon the new Session 115 will be for
USA market only. So, Peavey lovers hang on to your NV112s and NV 400s.

Thanks Ted, heard it was absolutely crap, Bill Ferguson who was supposed to demo it on main stage. chose not to use it, he quoted $1799 as price, about twice what it was worth.The Quilter seems a far better buy, believe Al Brisco rated them highly.Hope you and the driver had a great time, beautiful MSA he got, love the finish.

Malcolm - the amp wasn't absolute crap - it wasn't that good! I heard a number of players (established experienced guys) have a go through it and try to make it sound reasonable. They failed abysmally .

I reckon Ted is right. This amp won't see the light of day in the UK via the legal channels. It is priced very close to the Telonics TCA500 combo. The TCA is a vastly superior piece of kit, that has been tested to extreme lengths. The Peavey 115 that I saw had been rushed into the market place. I had lunch at Dallas with a group of American friends, and we were all unanimous in our verdict that Peavey had made a massive mistake by not debugging the 115 before putting it up for demo at Dallas. A great pity after what they have done for steel guitar over the years, but some of us thought they had lost the plot with this project.

Yep, they missed their chance to come in with a light reasonably powered amp, without all the built in effects( so many out board ones available to suit everyone's taste),but above all at a price the average steel player could afford. I know there are some who say price is on a par with those of the time period of the 400 series, but I can only equate that with the fact that wages have not risen, when I stopped playing last year, some nights I was getting the same or less than I was ten or more years ago.For me personally I couldn't and wouldn't pay these prices, and I think Peavey will live to regret such a price hike, as players go for other options.
