Roy - at the risk of actually returning to the subject - there's quite a lot of non-mechanically minded players I would guess, my self included, who don't know one end of a pedal steel's moving parts from another. Anybody out there with a decent diagram of what is what on the under-belly and which might benefit from lubrication and which bits might not? The down side of squirting oil willy-nilly is the dirty black smudges on the trousers some time after - what goes up must come down.......no actress and bishop comments please! Or could somebody write this up for the magazine perhaps? Bob :geek: :geek:

Bob - please don't take this the wrong way. In my first reply to Roy, when the post was on topic, you will find a link to Greg Cutshaw's web site. Greg has taken numerous photos of the workings of a pedal steel and the lubrication points. Just click on each thumbnail for an expanded view. Hope that helps. ;)

Hi Ken,

No problem with that though maybe even a bit too technical......no pleasing some people, I know. Dave tried to explain to me when I was taking delivery of my new guitar how I should get 3 in 1 into this and that part. By the time I'd got home it had all been wiped from my hard drive! :geek:

Strange how these threads get high-jacked by certain parties to the point when we forget what the original question was!

Thanks Ken :ugeek:

Have to admit that needle applicator looks a useful addition to the tool box. Gets the lubricant in the right place in small doses - the trousers would appreciate that! ;) It would appear that if it moves, oil it. how am I doing? :ugeek:

Where do you get your supplies Ken, the USA I guess?

I'm afraid not Bob. Just simple old eBay mate. Just google TriFlow and it will throw up a number of suppliers. :geek:
