Danny, to answer your question re the bonnie lassies, the female steel player is one of Lionel Wendling's students (smart girl she plays a Mullen) she did a fine job too, the fiddler is Aidan Cunningham's daughter ( she is currently the All Ireland Traditional Champion ) and she is a fine singer too

And I have to report that they are both very easy on the eye.

And that is all I have to say on the matter

The fiddle player is Aoife Cunningham. She's Aidan's daughter as Willie said.

Lionel's student's name is Muriel. (Surname is something french I didn't catch). She's only been playing steel eighteen months and she played at at steel festival (I think I was playing eighteen years before I played at a festival). She's either very talented or Lionel is an incredible teacher. I suspect it's a combination of both.

It was great to see everybody as usual. I think Joe Wright is easily the most accomplished steel player on the planet at the moment. We can argue about who is more musical but I think Joe has the technique of playing the steel nailed down like nobody else.

And what an entertainer! Did you catch his death metal version of a Charlie Pride song? Some of the band were new to these steel festivals they couldn't quite believe what they were seeing....!

Gaun yersel Muriel! That gal must've balls of steel to get up in front of such an illustrious bunch after only 18 months! One to watch.
Death Metal and Charlie Pride don't come together in a sentence too often, I would think. Sounds....interesting?
Thanks Paul.

Daniel, please keep within the bounds of decency, if you know anything about the female anatomy you will be well aware of the inaccuracy of your statement, Having seen her in the flesh so to speak I am pretty sure she didn't have the appendages you alluded to, steel or otherwise.

Tut tut tut.

Sincerest apologies, brother William, in no way did I mean to cause offence amongst this genteel community. The 'balls of steel' were a clumsy metaphor in praise of the young lady's bravery. I would never comment on the fairer sex's globes, pendulous, or otherwise. Heaven forfend.
