You can't see much of me but after the first minute or so I'm up in the mix for once! We play here every other Sunday so pop down. C&W oldies but goodies.

This month I'll have been playing pedal steel for ten years. I'm a long way off the standard I was hoping for when I started but 10 years, 2 kids, 3 jobs later I'm still plugging away in what little spare time I have and playing out 3 or 4 times a month. I'm having a blast!

Yes, the same MSA, a great workhorse but I'll finally have saved enough for a new one later this year I hope. Might have to be a 'Bud Nick, what do you reckon?
Barry, happy to do that. I think the Swinging Doors intro is a Ralph Mooney and James Burton split on the record but I hogged it all for myself (don't tell our guitarist )

I love the sound and feel of a Sho-Bud, but if I was going to buy a new guitar, I'd want a VKL and tunable splits, at least on strings 4,5 & 6. You can't achieve this on Sho-Bud, other than some fancy engineering way beyond my capabilities. However, Lloyd Green seemed to manage pretty well...

Funny, I feel like I'm a long way off mastering the minimal number of changes on my guitar and I've never hankered after more levers or tunable splits. Maybe at the end of decade II…? I tried working out a Lloyd Green thing off the Charlie Pride In Person LP recently and it was so far out of my experience on E9, just staggering and humbling, I can't see how I would ever want to add more complexity. Maybe I'm looking at it backwards. Anyway I do enjoy moving the bar around and trying to nail the odd slant here and there, for better or worse.
