Always been one of my favourites, used to play it on 6 string when I was street busking in the 1980's. A little duo, we used to do Shadows solo's but this tune always was the main moneymaker. During the end solo I would just close my eyes and listen to the pound coins hit the case

Anyway, I've fancied trying a pedal steel version for a while but wanted to try to do it justice, so bitten the bullet and given it a go. This is my interpretation of the melody by ear, I did the backing track myself, I wanted to try something a little bit different from the standard backing tracks, it also gave me chance to try out my Guild 12 string acoustic

I know what you mean there mate. I was up to take 32 on Blue Steel Blues - and all the same mistakes at the same spot. One of those little licks that caught a finger under the string. It was a technique thing. If you were like me I bet you thought you would never see the end.

But you did it - well done.

Listening to some of the clips being presented on this forum shows just how good the standard is of current UK players. This bodes well for the future of UK steel guitar. Geoff and Mick, it doesn't matter how many takes you spend on your recordings, keep it going as you are coming up with some good stuff.

The tone you get is just amazing and the way you join it all up is so seamless and fluid. If I could play like you Ken....
